Apple Grove Solar | 15 MW-AC

Current Status: Development

• Apple Grove Solar is a 15 MW-AC solar project under development in Louisa County, Virginia, which will connect to Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s grid through an existing distribution line. 
• SolUnesco originated this project, securing land rights in 2019, and led successful efforts to achieve a Special Exception Permit from Louisa County, interconnection with REC, and early-stage negotiations for an eventual Power Purchase Agreement with Old Dominion Electric Co-op (ODEC).
• SolUnesco sold Apple Grove Solar to Energix Renewables in 2020. This project is currently working to achieve its final building permits and is expected to begin construction in early 2023.  
• Apple Grove Solar has finalized a Power Purchase Agreement with ODEC, meaning power generated by this site will be sold to local customers, to the benefit of the local rate-payer.
